Website Updates

2 Jan 2008.  I told myself a few days ago not to carry on with editing kay waay na tiempo the only thing is it's work is ok at the moment and also still don't like to get back to work pa! Hahaha! maybe this coming Monday....:) Anyway, during the last few days added Pres Ed Lee to the homepage as well as Chut, and the three girls at the bottom right hand.  Also managed to make the Message Board look presentable with our new theme as well as doing the entire layout differently.  We will be able to put photos or announcements to the left of the messages.... 26 Dec 2007.  Hellllloooooo! Ari naman ko just for a short while.  Well it's not actually short, took me a whole day today to do changes and housecleaning on our site.  Been very busy these days.  Changed the website banner.  Composed a message on the Welcome Page.  Made the snow fall in the Message Board. 11 Jan 2007. Added a new album to the gallery called Wedding 3 with the slide show to the sound of the Queen's Famous song which I think is fitting to these set of photos. Thanks to Mrs. Susan Nufable for sending these photos. - Raul

6 Jan 2007. Modified and installed the new photo gallery script donated by Flor.  Flor many thanks to you.  This new photo gallery is now powered by flash and xml and is used in our New Gallery Page.  There are currently 3 Albums uploaded there, one of the wedding and the other is the NY Tour of Leo and Armin.

Modified the homepage of our website.  Ok, my Chris did the buttons and 3d artwork in Photoshop, guess I'm too old to learn it properly yada yada yada.  Provided links to the websites of our fellow Agustinian High Schoolers.  Please send me a link if you know of any other similar sites.

Fixed 2 photos sent by Susan in Current Photos 2.  It should work now.  Silly counter on the homepage had a bug, took several hours to fix it.  Next update will include the Dating Photos of Carl and Susan (are they hot photos? well you'll have to see). 19 March 2006. I have taken Tech Tips page offline.  I made a new discussion board called Tech Tips & Kidz Korner.

17 March 2006. Made a new page called Discussion Board.  This is a php based forum where we can discuss topical issues.  The good thing about this discussion board is that it is database driven and therefore less chances of us losing postings.  What's more, you can open as many topics you want and others can reply to it specifically and is searchable. The downside is that this package comes with its own password protection and before you can reply it will require you to register and log in.  Apologies for this, but there is nothing I can do about it.

Also changed the global navigation on top to 3D.  Credit where credit is due.  My daughter Chris was the one who did the artwork in Photoshop. Thanks Kookai. - Raul

Migrated over 3,000 messages since the start of our website over to MySql database unfortunately some were lost or got corrupted in the process due different file formats and format layout such as the ones with photos, birthday announcements on .jpg and multi paragraph messages.

27-28 January 2006. Modified the message board written in .php is now database-driven using MySql for the backend. We now have the capability to insert smilies of our own choice, search the message board for specific words or names, auto re-paging to show 30 messages/page (or more) fast backup etc. Manually entered the last 30 odd messages from the old message board.  I am currently finding a way to migrate the thousands of messages from 3 Jan 2005 but this is quite tricky- Raul

Uploaded more photos to Tipon-tipon Galleries 1 & 2.  You can see lots more action (risque?) at the KTV Music Plaza, Cabalen and Tony Roma's Restaurants.  Resolved the problem when our site locked up and wont let us post messages.  Currently working with Carl on Yahoo IM audio to organise the photo files in a more logical order. - Raul

Made a different separator image for the forms.  This is a minor modification to the overall theme and for some unknown reason has deleted entries in the Girls Talk page, Hobbies Page, Chicago Reunion, HS Stories page.  Please accept my apologies.  It would have been avoided if we have volunteers to do the backup but no one did so I guess we will have to take risks such as this.  The Message Board was not affected.- Raul

Website works until this date - modified new scripts for falling stuff on the page, scripts for 'who's online', worked on our radio station audio but halted due to lack of better audio/mixing software (can anyone find one? pls let me know. we are not buying by the way - we want a freebee one on the net).  Uploaded photo of 'Rocket Man' in during his annual Halloween costume party.  This can be found in Current Photos 1 page. Uploaded 2 video clips edited by Rex to the Multimedia page. Started the Chatroom Challenge.

18 November 2005. Uploaded new tutorial flash movie to guide users on How To Send Txt to the Philippines via the Message Board. The button can be accessed near the cellphone image in the Message Board.  Changed the navigation structure - relocated pages which are unused: I-PARTY II move to Photo Galleries, Competition Page moved to Miscellaneous, Hobbies Page moved to Miscellaneous. - Raul

16 November 2005. Testing my capacity to edit the website from my end. Info changes were made in the Contact Directory Page as requested by Marichu and Ismael "Maeng' C.. Uploaded Marichu's "superhero" photo in Kids Corner. - Rex 

14 November 2005.  Installed a front end for our website password management to make it easier to administer passwords.  Completed testing of the site after script incident. Website online as normal. Archived old messages from the Message Board.

13 - 14 November 2005. Major problem with the website due to cgi script conflict with FP extensions.  Reinstalled 700 mb webfiles. GOOD NEWS: Our website just got a 30x increase in site traffic  and a 3x increase in webspace.  This means we will never reach our limit of webtraffic. Pagusto na kamo sang stambay sa chatroom or viewing our movie clips online however many times you want.

12 November 2005. Edited and uploaded photos from Manila group during their get together at Cheryl Mae's house in Pagsanjan.  Beautiful place! Wish we were there.

9 November 2005. Purchased new chat room scripts and completed installation / configuration on a separate server. Rebuilt lost database.  Tested main chatroom and is now fully functional.  Awaiting input of usernames and passwords. New video: this 11 - min clip will hopefully comfort those who pine for Iloilo.  Uploaded photos of Lovely Aquino and her family to Current Photos 2.  This can be accessed from the Photo Galleries Page.

8 November 2005. Deleted HS Stories and change it to a brand new HS Trivia.  Changed navigation and linkages. New Layout.  Modified javascript for paktakon game. Go ahead and try HS Trivia page!

8 November 2005. Made some scripts improve the look of our site a little bit.  Made new pages for cellphone registration. New instructions for registering  cellphones which is more secure and private.  Please register cell numbers that you know.  Edited the layout of Message Board, minor changes to Chat Room page and Text page.

7 November 2005. New Oldies photos edited and uploaded to Oldies 1 photo gallery.  Since Lowell Naces honoured us today by registering, I thought I would upload an old photo of his.  Other batchmates in the photos are Carmen Samson, Rex, Vincent, Rommel Piñero, Armin, Remus etc...

7-11 November 2005. Tested several SMS gateway software here in the UK to verify function and compatibility with our website. Edited several pages such as the message board to accomodate the Text facility.  Made a new help page for Texting and deleted some redundant page.

1- 5 November 2005. Edited a 1 hr video from Edward Lee taken during the I-PARTY 2 and Reunion in Iloilo last July. Uploaded the last of the clips 5th of November.  Hilarious Videos. Libag sang kanta, pasabog sa tunga, utso-utso, kantahanay, solo, isyohanay - all captured.

21 August 2005. Uploaded 51 photos to the I_PARTY II page. There are no captions on these yet due to time constraint. Uploaded the photo of the month! You can view this at Lady R's page.  Who's the lucky guy? There is a lot of backlog in terms of uploading stuff to our site. Please bear with yours truly. Meagre spare time is taken up with legal matters in helping fellow Filipinos.

12 August 2005. Around 20+ photos during the I-PARTy Dinner at the Barbecue Park just accross Marina's.  More photos of the dinner will be posted soon including one with Denis Cerbo and Nonato dancing.  Ladies dont fret, the photos of girls are in the next update.

11 August 2005. Second and final lot from the Virtual World Cafe.  The next photos will be from the dinner party and the small get togethers. There is also a long video footage.

10 August 2005.  After a long hiatus, I managed to do some editing of the photo from the I-Party II.  Here is the first lot from the Virtual World Cafe.

27 May 2005. Uploaded 3 new video clips from Carl showing the California Reunion and this can be found at the bottom of the Message Board page.  These clips are very nice because it shows 'behind the scenes' aspect of the party which transports the viewer there.  Many thanks to Rexie for editing the videos, the quality of which gets better each time!! Changed the layout of the Chat Room page yesterday and scripted the page of the different chatrooms so that there is more room for the chat windows.  Reverse-engineered a slide show script from a commercial website (won't tell you which) the other day and modified it to suit the theme and specs of our own website. 

Moved the centennial videos from Edward Lee to the Multimedia page.

26 May 2005. California Reunion 2005 slide show is now online. For dial-up modem users, this may be a slow process but you can try. This can be viewed from the Photo Galleries page. The first photos received are located in the Reunion 2 galleries.

25 May 2005. Love Test is available at Edna's website.  Worked on a slide presentation script of the CALIFORNIA Reunion photos. This will be online soon from the Photo Galleries page.

23 May 2005. 25 April 2005.  A new video has been uploaded which is located at the bottom of the Message Board page.  With this goes a new found talent.  Rexie! Well done migo for taking the time for composing the video and congratulations for overcoming the steep learning curve in learning video editing.  You have just worked yourself into a new role - Rexie is now our new video editor!!! Another batchmate who is into IT is Romel Francisco. Romel has been a front end webmaster and he has volunteered to help! Thank you migo! Now all you have to do is learn FP 2002 and back end stuff. Remus and yours truly will go through it with you. 

25 April 2005.  The I-PARTY photos have been uploaded. New additions from Manila have been edited and posted today.  Many thanks to Socorro for the pics.  Iloilo photos have also been uploaded during the party and thanks to Edward for taking all those wonderful pics.  We are still awaiting Bacolod photos and I am sure Aida or Jung will send it as soon as they can.  Thanks to Rex for sending his own photo during the event and it is very nice because it gives us a glimpse of how it is from his side. Removed photos of Jung from the I-PARTY photo gallery and this will be transfered to the Current Photos 2 in a day or so.

18 April 2005.  A new talent is discovered! A pretty ballerina by the name of Rosangela has been practising and perfecting her moves from a very early age.  Check out the Kids Corner page to see more of her photos.  Remus, we all know that you have been working hard on your pirouettes wearing your tutu but sadly you are no match for this ballet princess!

13 April 2005.  Loads of photos uploaded.  Gary and Leo's get together in Dubai - Reunion 2 Gallery; the rest of the photos are in the Temporary Photo GAllery, REx, Lutz and Gillian Rae additional photos in Cuurent Photos 1, William and Chut get together in REunion 2, another batch of oldies from Joebert.  Joebert seems to have an unusually large collection of Sponsors' photos! Well done Joebert these are in Oldies 1.  You now have a serious competition my friend because Carmen dug up her treasure trove and submitted 7! 07 April 2005.  Restructured the Message Board as it was showing errors and was quite unmanageable during modifications.  Added some validation in the Message Board form so that the name won't be forgotten before clicking the submit button; same with the submission form for the HS Stories. Tested some floating jscripts.  Restructured Chat Room page and added a dashboard time clock to make it easier for chatters to ascertain the time of other countries and regions.  If you require more countries, please email yours truly.  Uploaded Ismael Cordova's photo, as well as two photos for the Oldies 1 page - HS beauties and CAT officers, another photo for the Reunion 2 page.  Many thanks to Maing, Joebert and James for the editing of the photos to make it better and of the correct dimension. 

05 April 2005.  We have an Ice Princess! Check out the new addition at the Kid's Corner page.  Uploaded a very nice photo of our HS beauties to Oldies 1 page.  Thanks for the submissions from Joebert and James. The photo editing has now been passed on from Remus to James to lessen Remus' workload with the web authentication.  Guys thanks.

05 April 2005.  Constructed and uploaded a new page - I-PARTY Webcam at 0530 today.  At the moment this is being tested and the bandwidth consumption is being measured.  In the next few days, the viewing area for the webcam will be recoded to make it 'float', so you can view the camera while at the same time be on the chatroom or browsing the web.

04 April 2005.  Constructed a form and several pages: Contact Directory, Contact Directory Form, backup page result.  Restructured and file protected several folders.  The Contact Directory will be complete listing of email addresses, state/country of our batchmates and will be password protected by Remus so access will only granted to those wit personal password.  This database will be maintained and updated by Rex.  Many thanks guys.

04 April 2005.  Changed the layout of the main chatroom page and swapped the hyperlinks.  Renamed the chatrooms Main Chatroom and Backup Chatroom. A new confirmation page has been created for the Registration form.  Uploaded a new submission for the Competition Page; the competition deadline will be extended to encourage new entrants. Uploaded two paktakon photos in the HS Stories page.  Once this is answered, this will be moved to the Oldies1 page.

02 April 2005.  Uploaded Edward's family picture to Current Photos 2. Edward, thank you gid. Tested components of the I-PARTY with Edward Lee and Joebert.  The test phase included Flash Chat, AMF Chat, audio, video, and bandwidth throughput (if the intended cafe can handle the connection requirements of the party) and all passed with flying colours. We were also able to view the room and it looks very good.  Many, many thanks to Edward for organising the Iloilo side and for Joebert for staying up late, well, early morning really. Next stage will be to test vid cam software to connect to our web page.

01 April 2005.  Uploaded and configured a new AMF Flashchat chatroom.  This is hosted at USAHS83.com.  Remus worked on the user credentials and tested the system with James and yours truly.  He also bought the software for us! Thank you Remus. Stress tested the chatroom with around 8 users and probably more in the late hours. Server crashed and it affected the website files.  Technical support of the hosting company reloaded the Front Page Extension which deleted the site password protection.  This will have to be sorted out ASAP.

31 March 2005.  Welcome banner has been added in the Welcome Page for those who logged in recently.  Remus has coded some fix for the chatroom and it has een uploaded.  Remus many thanks. A chatroom and the associated MySQL is currently being tested in a different domain which we also own-USAHS83.com (You are currently in USAHS83.net.) Christine (my daughter) has learned the technique of layering in photo editing and she has made the white background of the logo in the home page disappear to make our site look more professional.  Yours truly tried layering before but it got messed up.  Gillian Rae's work of art is uploaded to the Kid's Corner Page.  Aussie get together has been uploaded to Reunion 2 in the Photo Gallery section

26 March 2005.  An email page has been constructed to offer our batchmates a free email account where ever they are, Philippines or abroad.  An email application form is online and hopefully this will facilitate our batch in getting connected. Please encourage your contacts to get one if they don't have an account yet. You may have noticed that the Kid's Corner page has been taken away.  This was due to the fact that there were no submissions but a work of art has just been received from Gillian Rae via Rex, and this should be online soon.  Rex thank you gid.

22 March 2005.  Our website hosting account has been upgraded as of today to accommodate a new version of a chat room, a link can be found in the Chat Room page.  As a result, the size of our space to put our website in has tripled and the bandwidth consumption (how many logging in the site and length of use) has doubled.  From the current users' point of you, you wont see anything different as these are all behind the scenes in preparation for the I-Party. 

As mentioned, the new chat room has been configured and is now being stress tested.  Thanks to Remus for kindly purchasing this software for us!  Remus is also getting up to speed with the site directory and structure as well as taking care of passwords and login credentials. Please email Remus to gain access to the new chat room.  For those experiencing difficulty in logging in to the new chatroom, please email me asap, especially those from Iloilo. You may have noticed that the site update has somewhat slowed down a bit.  This is due to the fact that yours truly is focusing much of the work in the background such as the coding and enabling the webcam, again, in preparation for the I-Party.  We would like to acnowledge and give thanks to those who pledge their support and for Edward for his effort in Iloilo.

7 March 2005.  Took out the Logo Page from the navigation buttons.  Thanks for all those who took time to vote on a logo for our website, the winning design was obviously the Eagle version.  Most of all, thank you very much Martin for making that for us inspite of your busy schedule.  Don't worry, Helen Bola or Panawagan will not call out your name!  The specification for the logo will be sent soon.  Designed a new page, Kids Corner, dedicated to our children, our favourite nephews and nieces, or any child close to our heart.  Uploaded some pics that were not viewable and made a link for Photo Gallery 5.  Thank you Rex, well spotted.  New Hot Panawagan will be online Wednesday or Thursday.

Rearranged the layout of Gallery 1.  Feedback is needed from Edward and Helen if this is better (faster in loading) compared to the previous layout otherwise it will be reverted back.  Thanks.

2 March 2005.  New Hot Panawagan in Message Board and Archived most of the messages. Took out the heading 'Remote User,Time Stamp and Field Names to save space as suggested by Gjean. This will take effect on new messages. Ongoing work on making the fonts smaller is being carried out.

24 February 2005.  Corrected or added captions under the photos of Jo Ann Sanchez-Diaz, Leo Von Ramon Panes, Wally Novero, Irwin Diaz, Amythest Bautista.  Added a help page for the chatroom.  Uploaded beautiful pictures of Janelle Villanueva and Arianna Bryounce Jereos and this is in the message board.  Added a search form for our website and this is accessible on each page.  Please note that the names included in the scanned yearbook photos is not searchable because OCR was not used.

22 February 2005.  Updated the captions under Edna and Emily in Yearbook 12.  Restructured the website last Sunday to put the home page outside of the protected zone and added a new welcome page which is still under construction.  Users can now access the home page without being asked for a password and there is a help statement to resolve password issues.  An email address is also provided in case they cannot get through.  Many thanks to Jo Ann for suggesting these.

19 February 2005. Added another photo of our batchmate in the Tribute video.  Many thanks to Edna and Mae Lyn for confirming this sad information.  The Tribute video was redone to have 'softer' transitions between the images as well as incorporate some moving clips and new photos.  Acknowledgments at the end was also corrected.

18 February 2005. Chat Room was redone as a popup window to enable users to go to the different pages while chatting at the same time.  You can leave the chat room running while surfing the net; you can even close on your browser and your chat room would still be running. Site downtown this weekend has been postponed.  Thank you to Rex, Glenn, Remus and James for stress testing the chat room during its first day.

16 February 2005.  Chat Room page uploaded.  This page is currently undergoing testing and it would be appreciated if you can report any problems with it so it can be resolved.  Those behind a proxy server or some firewall may experience slow loading of the chatroom.  If you fail to get in at all, please report it.

14 February 2005.  Renamed the Sights and Sounds page to Scenes because this is going to contain static photos only. For those who haven't heard the voices of our classmates, the first video streaming clip is encoded and sorted.  You can view it at the new Multimedia page.  This is a dry run for the video of (hopefully) the Mother of All Birthday Parties at James' house in Chicago since a lot of you will be there.  James, get your vidcam ready.  It would be especially nice if you can get short statements from each batchmate like "greetings earthmen, take me to your leader...." . Of course do not forget to get a statement/footage from the celebrant herself this is of utmost importance.

13 February 2005.  Edited the site while having an audio chat with Remus and James.  It is so refreshing to work while listening to friends' voices.  Uploaded Yearbooks 12, 11, 13, 14 as well as 2.  Salamat gid kay Remus for taking additional load in doing YB 2 & 6 and I have to mention that there were so many who voluntered to do it - Jo Ann, Rex, James. James, I have uploaded the long-awaited photos of Sayong!  YB 6 will follow shortly. Also uploaded Glenn's photo in Gallery 2.

12 February 2005.  Remade the Logo page to accommodate a vote form in order to give justice and importance to Martin's work and the logo for our website.  The results of the votes are then collected in a page which you can access from there.  Please vote and do fill in the contact forms. 

Sorted the Logo page problem which kept on asking for authentication.  You can vote for the web logo now.  Uploaded new Year book Gallery 12.  Uploaded Sexy Rexy's family pic and their pretty daughter Gillian Rae in Gallery 2.

Received additional year book photos from Joebert which need to be edited and after a brief review, these will be sent out soon to our Web Workgroup for editing.  Received additional edited year book photos from Joan and Remus (for Yearbook 4 and Yearbook 10 -new) and will be uploaded in a few minutes.  Many, many thanks to both of them and the workgroup for their help.

It is a concern that some are still experiencing user-password problems.  Every effort will be made to rectify this and this issue has been brought to the attention of the techies at the hosting site.  If you know someone having this kind of problem, please let them know to enter the user-passwords several times and it will eventually let them in.  It is not the object of this website to be too restrictive as it defeats the whole purpose nor is it the intention to be too open as it leads your email addresses to be spammed and the bulletin to be vandalised as evidenced in other sites.  This has been discussed by the Web Group and a summary will be published shortly.

Web priorities: 1) To address and rectify the password problem - probably the whole site restructured and retested.  (three Rs - Raul, Remus and Rex) 2) To enable members of the Web Workgroup to edit specific pages online. 3) Shape of thing to come - the future look of our website! (probably 6 months later) Nope - you won't have a peek yet.

08 February.  Made another page (Photo Gallery 5) for the avalanche of pictures that Edward sent.  He also sent a small movie clip to post on the site and this will be done soon.  Many, many thanks Edward.  Migo, please give me a feedback regarding of the speed of access from your side.  I tested our site and the speed was about 15 to 20 secs for each pic to load when you click on the thumbnail.  A page takes about 3-5 secs.  This is testing on a modem speed of 31.2 kpbs.  I need your feedback to ensure that batchmates using modems will be able to view our site.

07 February 2005.  Thanks to Joebert for his prompt sending of the yearbook photos.  I have done 1 page - Year Book 9 which includes 17 photos.  The rest of the pages will have to be edited by the Web Workgroup and any who would like to volunteer.

The site was restructured and 10 pages were added today to accommodate the Year Book photos.  The main Photo Galleries page will have to be redone to look organised.  We will be implementing Jo Ann's suggestion to have an update paragraph below each photo.

06 February 2005.  Edited and uploaded 2 batches of pictures, three pics from the latest get together sent by William and Joebert's pictures of the Dinagyang.  Thanks very much guys. All Dinagyang pics without the pictures of our batchmates will go in a different gallery that I will make - probably called Sights and Sounds; yes I mean sound because I am planning to use John 'Pakyad' Alunan's sound track as background music when you browse the page (with his permission of course), especially those songs during the early '80s. I am hoping for more pictures from Carl. 

Individual and family photos were removed from Gallery 1 and will be moved to Gallery 2 later in the day.

04 February 2005.  Alex Amara from New Jersey just logged on today - so welcome again Alex.  Made another page under Gallery in preparation for the yearbook photos.  I will upload another batch of Joebert's pics probably early next week.  Another good source of photos will be Silverio 'Kabayo' Vilda III as photography was his hobby during 4th year.

03 February 2005.  Joebert has sent tons of pictures this morning and I have just uploaded it.  Great pictures which brings a lot of smile and happy memories.  I enjoyed editing the photos and recalling the names although you guys should supply the rest.  William has also sent pictures during the dinagyang together with Joebert but I think I will wait for the photos of him and Carl having dinner with the rest of the batchmates!  Wow!  I wish I was there.  So watch this space...  By the way,  Happy Fiesta sa Jaro!!!
